It's National Cookie Day!
Oreos, Snickerdoodles, Chocolate Chips OH MY!
That's right. We're a bunch of Cookie Monsters and today is our day to shine. So in the spirit of the holiday, let's learn a bit about this delicious day.
We did our research and found the following fun facts surrounding cookies:
- In 1987, Matt Nader of the San Francisco-based Blue Chip Cookie Company created Cookie Day. Thanks, Matt!
- It was quickly picked up by Sesame Street, who had the one and only Cookie Monster proclaim it to the masses.
- The Oreo is the best-selling cookie of the 20th century
Now that we're all schooled on cookie history, let's focus on the main event: HOW TO CELEBRATE?!
There is no wrong way to celebrate a day as important as Cookie Day, but we highly recommend a cookie swap. Have everyone at the office bring their favorite cookies-homemade or store bought-and take home one of each. You'll go home at the end of the day with a goodie bag to share with your family. Or keep it to yourself, we won't tell!
And if you want to try a new recipe, here are a few we think sound amazing:
